Short answer: an art subscription box is worth it if you want a consistent creative habit without planning projects or shopping for supplies. It is less worth it if you already have a well stocked studio and a project list. For most families and busy adults, the value comes from three things: curated supplies, a ready made project and the motivation of something new arriving every month.
What you get for the money
An Art Club Monthly box costs $39 per month for kids (ages 5 to 12) or $49 per month for teens and adults (13+), with free US shipping and 50% off the first box. Each box includes:
- The art supplies for that month’s project, such as stretched canvas, paints, brushes and a specialty medium
- An illustrated art history pamphlet about one world famous masterpiece
- An open ended creative challenge so the finished piece is original, not a copy
- The chance to be featured on our website and social channels
